This was a straight-out culinary gamble for my wife (Peg) and I.
We had never done anything in the way of dehydrating/cooking (well...not intentionally, anyway)...
Still; Peg loves a kitchen gadget....and I had visions of home-made jerky to enjoy a good brew with.
The unit is a square silver metal box that is lightweight to move, yet stable when placed.
The unit itself and sliding drawer racks are very well-constructed. It all seems to be quite durable.
The digital control panel is touch-sensitive and easy to set-up.
The unit only gets just warm to the touch--no burn hazard there.
This small box worked smoothly via Timer as it produced some 'Peggy Jerky' (she won`t let me call it 'Perky', darnitt!)
The Peggy Jerky was marinated Round Steak strips....
Next Peg plans to go with a batch of Dried Bananas !
It`s like having a new world of cooking open up.
To the point; This Dehydrator unit is a compact extra-dry oven that hums quietly as it cooks, slowly drying-out food.
